Got to Art Tours Japan

Go to Margaret Cowling Arts

Dr Gary Hickey, internationally renowned art historian and curator of Japanese Art, contacted me to request the creation of a website to detail and publicise his art and cultural tours to Japan.

Gary and his wife Haruyo Maeda share with a select group of art lovers their vast knowledge of Japan during these tours which they personally conduct.

As this was a new venture, it was necessary to create a logo, look and feel for the business and I decided to use the plum blossom of Haruyo's family crest or seal, incorporating it into the logo, page background and favicon. Gary and Haruyo nominated green as their preferred colour scheme and I've used greens evocative of the famous moss gardens of Japan to complement Gary's splendid photos.

Fine art and Furniture

This site presents the work of three members of one family: the renowned artists Margaret Cowling and her daughter Maggie Chiara Cowling and Maggie's partner Piero Pompeani who makes fine furniture using traditional cabinet making and finishing techniques inspired and informed by stylistic influences of centuries past. Piero also restores furniture to its original splendour trading as Golden Age Restorations.

Galleries have been created to show the work of all three with photographs and enlargements for optimal viewing.

Go to Elmridge Stud
Triton Group

Elmridge Stud

Elmridge Stud on the outskirts of Sydney, NSW is an horse stud owned and run by mother and daughter team Lynden Franklin and Verity Smith.

More beautiful horses but each of the studs for which I have produced a web site has its own people, personality and philosophy, that inspires – even demands – a unique look and feel for each.

Martin White, its MD wanted a complete update of the website and I decided to use the distinctive triangle logo as a major design element since it symbolises the structure and performance of this organisation.
